A splash of this…a dash of that

An avid fan I am of the two key ingredients in this blog: one – eat.art…created for all lovers of food, and two – the details…the fabulous curls and twirls of life that make it worth living! Put the two together and it is easy to see why eat.art just gets it right, time and again!

So…in plunging into the depths of winter, let yourself get lost in the things (sometimes forgotten, sometimes overlooked, most times so simple) that make it all worth it….

the demure dusting of cinnamon to top off a foamy cappuccino

pinch pots filled with pink (black or blue) salt at the next dinner club – regardless of the theme for the evening

fat red chillies stuffed generously into bottles of brine for extra heat

a sixth spice added to your Chinese-five – all stirred into melted chocolate and cream

baking farm butter cookies with your little ones covered in flour and smelling of vanilla

discovering your inner chef as you watch your guests scoop out the last of your first curry of the season

edible flowers that add colour to a bed of greens

taking a moment to brew ones loose leaf tea instead of squeezing the life out of the teabag

learning the art of marinating one’s garden-grown olives

sloshing around in sticky red gumboots whilst tearing off chunks of home-grown herbs to wrap in linen   cloth and dunk into a pot of soulful soup

donning that ridiculous boobs-and-butt apron the in-laws gave you in earnest

cranking up your most favorite current foot stomper while banging it out with your wooden spoon collection, and…

…When you find yourself emerging into the sunshine again, you will look back over the months passed and smile knowing that winter delighted your senses in a way that has left you pleasantly surprised…and you will realise that it has been made all the more worthwhile by eat.art’s attention to the details. It’s here that we paint the pictures for you to re-create, in rich colour, flavour and fragrance. It’s here that we get you excited about being in your kitchen – the heart of your home. And it’s here that we help you to get as excited as we are about “Living Food”.

So, if its details you are hungry for – then join us regularly as eat.art navigates you through winter by paying attention to them…

Only slightly exhausted mother-of-two delicious girls, lover of food (fine and fast), purveyor of all things pretty and Jill of all things ‘creative’…Nancy is the owner of Magpie Creative and has a background in the visual and performing arts. Having worked with the eat-art team before, she is thrilled, and slightly bewildered to have been asked to (take time out from juggling and) add some spice to the eat.art blog. Don’t get us wrong….it’s not that it needs it….it just wants more…and she is happy to oblige.
