Touch it, taste it, speak about it, hear it and fall in love with it! Thanks to Eat.Art, the brains behind this concept, we are putting this theory to the test through our Food Craft Dining Experiences.
The first event, which took place at a small backyard bistro in the burbs (PINK BISTRO)…treated guests to a craft beer (very en-trend right now…LEAGUE OF BEERS) and finger food pairing (THE FLYING PAN) challenging the norms of tacos and pizza with beer – followed by organic wine tastings (WAVERLEY HILLS), an ostrich burger break-out bonanza (again, challenging the burger norm…PINK BISTRO), a chocolate truffle tasting (SASZALI CHOCOLATES) and infused coffee rounder-offer….all supported by spices, salts and sauces from the EAT.ART range of gourmet food products! Shoo – a mouthful you might think, well you should have been there!
Food Craft is about accessibility, affordability, spoiling rotten the people who want to know more and fall in love with our products and the sharing of our crafts. Our guests left with smiles on their faces, a little wobbly at the knee, full and happy tummies and a resounding “we want more – when is the next one!?!”
Our suppliers are carefully sourced, like-minded (in other words believe in this concept) and give so generously so make these events a success…all in the name of allowing people to experience amazing food products and to meet the producers and hear their stories. No-one makes a monetary profit, but everyone profits from the exposure, publicity and the word-of-mouth advertising the events generate for all involved.
And so, here we are again on the eve of our next Food Craft (25th March ’14) and we cannot wait to share in the secrets and brilliance of our next group of collaborators.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you much more than this and that it takes place underground in the cellar below the Rococoa chocolate factory in Woodstock…and it’s jam-packed full of feast and flavour.
I will divulge in detail after-the-fact so be sure to watch this space, and~
To those of you who have their tickets…thank you for your support, we cannot wait to meet, wine, dine and delight you! For those of you still meaning to buy – jump on board the train because we are almost sold out! And for those of you who didn’t know what Food Craft was/is – you now have no excuses so, watch this space as we’ll be back again soon.
Mother-of-two delicious girls, lover of food (fine and fast), purveyor of all things pretty and Jill of all things ‘creative’…Nancy has a background in the visual arts, design and marketing and is the owner and Creative Director of Magpie. Having worked with the Eat.Art team before, she is thrilled to take time out from juggling and add some spice to the Eat.Art blog. Don’t get us wrong….it’s not that it needs it….it just wants more…and she is happy to oblige.
